FSC-STD-40-004 V3-1 FSC Chain of Custody Certification became effective on 01 September 2021. Until 22 December 2022 both version 3-1 and the previous version of the standard will be valid.
With the revision of FSC-STD-40-004, certificate holders are required to complete a self-assessment of their conformance to FSC core labour requirements.Part of conforming with the FSC core labour requirements is that organisations are required to assess how they already meet the requirements with a self-assessment. To help organisations with implementing the FSC core labour requirements, FSC has developed some country-specific self-assessment templates that provide more details than the generic self-assessment form found in the chain of custody standard.
The national template for Malaysia is now available. This is an optional tool and certificate holders may create their own similar tool to demonstrate conformance with the FSC core labour requirements.
